This non-smoking house boasts all the comforts of modern living but without compromising its traditional features. So, while the recent refurbishments mean you’ll enjoy a most agreeable standard of living, you’ll still feel part of a property that has served generations of Slovenes for hundreds of years. Staying in an authentic farmhouse on the doorstep of one of Europe’s most breathtaking and tranquil regions is a truly unique experience. We’re confident you’ll appreciate it as much as previous guests have.
The house comfortably accommodates six and includes two double bedrooms, one usually arranged as a twin, and a spacious attic room with two single beds – ideal for children. Facilities are extensive and include all the mod cons you’d expect from modern farmhouse accommodation. These include a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, a large LCD TV with free cable channels and a DVD player, a stereo sound system with i-Pod connection and an extensive library containing numerous guides, maps, books and DVDs. On your arrival you will find the house freshly prepared, with your beds made and bath towels provided. On request, our local agent can arrange a welcome pack of essential groceries.
Located in the charming village of Zasip, just a couple of kilometers from Lake Bled, the house was built in 1785, and is known locally as ‘Pr Tonco’ (Tony’s Place). The property is sited in a commanding position along a gentle ridge, ensuring sweeping and far-reaching views over the valley to the south and the Karavanke Mountains to the north. Positioned beside a church, on a street whose name in ancient Slovene means ‘cow track’, you’ll be at the centre of the village community often sharing a friendly ‘Dober Dan’ (good day) when passing locals in the street. Within minutes of leaving your doorstep you can be walking in open countryside or following delightful forest paths.
